Introducing- REVO PERFORMANCE AUDI SQ5

Performance comes in many shapes and sizes. Gone are the days of low-slung Italian exotics being the only ‘fast’ road cars – in 2014 there’s a high performance model to suit ALL your driving needs! One manufacturer leading the way is Audi, whose model line-up now includes the hot-hatch S1, super-sexy R8 V10 and 550bhp autobahn-storming RS6. In fact, Audi have even turned their attention to the world of 4×4 SUVs, the latest addition being the SQ5. Naturally Revo Performance just had to have one…

SQ5

Powered by a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo V6 diesel driving all four wheels, the SQ5 delivers 309bhp and 479lb-ft through a great ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox. That’s pretty impressive performance in standard trim, but this is a big ol’ brute weighing just over two tonnes, and that V6 engine up front has some serious tuning potential! In fact, it’s the same engine used in both the Audi A6 and Allroad platforms.

This undoubtedly makes it the perfect tuning base for Revo Performance. Sure the SQ5 sits 30mm lower on 20in wheels compared to the standard Q5 model, but we’ve got some SERIOUS plans for this project starting with the wheels/tyres and braking system. In fact, we’ve already equipped the SQ5 with the new Dunlop SP Sport Maxx compound – a tyre which promises to deliver exceptional dry and wet performance, stability and comfort (at speed) and also high aquaplaning resistance. We’ll bring you a full update on how the Dunlops perform once we’ve added some mileage. After the handling’s accounted for it’s then time to begin development on that twin-turbo V6 – watch this space!
